The Process
Every project is unique, and so is the journey to bringing it to life. My design process is tailored to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, from the initial idea to the finished space.
Initial Consultation & Project Brief
We start by getting to know you and your goals for the project. This is a relaxed conversation where we listen to your ideas, understand your needs, and discuss things like budget, timeline, and how you plan to use the space. From there, we create a clear brief that guides the rest of the process.
Feasibility & Concept Design
Next, we look into what’s possible on your site. This includes checking any planning restrictions and exploring different design ideas. We’ll then present concept designs—simple drawings or models—to help you visualise how your new space could look and feel.
Developed Design & Planning Application
Once you're happy with the concept, we develop the design in more detail—choosing materials, refining layouts, and making sure everything works together. We’ll then prepare and submit the planning application if required, and keep you updated throughout the process.
Technical Design & Building Regulations
After planning approval, we create detailed drawings and technical information that the builder will use. These also make sure your project meets all safety and building regulations. We coordinate with any other consultants needed, like structural engineers, to get everything ready for construction.
Construction
As building gets underway, we stay involved to help things run smoothly. We visit the site, answer questions from the contractor, and make sure the design is being followed. Our goal is to support you through the build and help bring your project to life in the way you intend it to.
